Sabbath Sunday

From our earliest days as a church, we’ve proclaimed that the church is a people we belong to, more than a place we attend. One way we have annually reminded ourselves of this reality is through our annual Church at Home to begin the New Year.

But this year, we’re adding an additional purpose and meaning to Church at Home.
We’re not just a people to belong to. We’re a particular people. We’re the people of Jesus. We enter 2023 with a new Mission Statement that reflects this reality.

We are people brought to life in Jesus, made spiritual family by Jesus, who together practice the Way of Jesus – for the glory of God and the good of our neighbors.

Church at Home this year, and going forward is also Sabbath Sunday.

The purpose of Sabbath Sunday isn’t to practice Sabbath. The practice of Sabbath is a means to an end. Our aim is to Practice the Way of Jesus. We practice Sabbath as a means of becoming more like Jesus.
