Week 4: Jesus … Suffered, Crucified, Died, and Buried
The Apostles' Creed came from the teachings of the apostles. It summarizes the core theology of the gospel and forms the foundation of our faith. The biblical truths outlined in the creed remind us that our faith is grounded in truth and a deep, rich history.
The Practice of Fasting
Fasting is the spiritual practice of voluntarily giving up something—most often food—for the purpose of seeking God more deeply. It exposes the hidden things that control us, such as pride, fear, or comfort-seeking, and creates space for transformation by revealing our true hunger for God. Throughout Scripture, fasting is practiced in times of mourning, repentance, and discernment, and Jesus himself began his ministry with a fast. In self-denial, we are invited to lay down lesser appetites and tune our hearts to the presence, voice, and grace of God.
